MNPS Family Portal

Infinite Campus’ Family Portal is now live for all families! To help with this transition, we’ve created an easily shareable video with an overview of the system’s features and the benefits for students, families and teachers. Families will have access to the video at www.mnps.org/familyportal and Metro Schools social media channels. While this video provides an overview of the system, additional resources and in-depth training for staff can be found in Campus Community within the Infinite Campus Portal, which can be accessed by clicking the tile App Icon in the top right-hand corner of Infinite Campus.

As a reminder, families began receiving their unique registration code in the mail last week. Families who don’t receive a letter by mid-January should contact the Family Information Center.

AWARDS & HONORS

Jeremy Stover

Jeremy Stover, a bus driver from the MNPS Transportation department, was recognized for his recent heroic actions. Jeremy was visiting with his mother in late December when he noticed a neighbor’s home was on fire. Jeremy entered the home, alerted the family, and thanks to his brave and selfless actions, everyone in the home – including the family’s pets – safely escaped their home. Dr. Joseph shared a letter with the Board and the audience from someone who witnessed Jeremy’s heroic actions. Jeremy’s supervisor, Taffy Marsh, director of transportation, also shared a few words about Jeremy’s dedication to his job.

STUDENT PERFORMANCE

Andrew Jackson Eagle Choral Ensemble performed before the meeting.

ACTION ITEMS

  • More than 70 people requested to speak to the Board during Tuesday’s meeting. Watch the public participation section of the meeting here.
  • The Board reviewed and approved a number of contracts, including select school renovations and the Teach for America contract. Review the entire list of governance issues in the meeting agenda here.
  • In response to the Metro Council resolution asking the School Board to review the feasibility of equipping school buses with seat belts, the Board unanimously voted for Dr. Joseph to study whether or not such an action is a possibility for the district.  The resolution asks that Dr. Joseph study the matter and report back to the Board.
