As a valued community partner, we want to let you know about exciting organizational changes within Metro Schools that will be announced to the public today.

We have recently selected four new community superintendents who will each supervise one-quarter of our district’s clusters and the schools located within that geographic area – both zoned and non-zoned schools. This new structure, which was announced in February, will allow for better planning and coordination across all grade levels and will support Metro Schools’ Strategic Framework. Currently, Metro Schools utilizes a tier-based model with executive lead principals for each tier – elementary, middle, and high schools. With a community-based model, we will be in a better position to mobilize local resources that support students and families by collaborating with civic, community, business, and faith-based organizations unique to the schools in each geographic cluster. Learn more about our district’s clusters and schools here.

The new community superintendents will transition into their roles on May 31 with an official start day of July 1.

Dr. Adrienne Battle | South-East Quadrant – Antioch, Cane Ridge and Glencliff clusters

Dr. Damon Cathey | North-East Quadrant – Stratford, McGavock and Maplewood clusters

Dr. Dottie Critchlow | South-West Quadrant – Hillsboro, Hillwood and Overton clusters

Dr. Pippa Meriwether | North-West Quadrant – Hunters Lane, Pearl-Cohn and Whites Creek clusters

*NOTE: Community superintendents will oversee all of the schools in their assigned clusters – zoned schools and non-zoned schools such as magnet schools, alternative schools, etc.
