The countdown for prom has begun!

  • Shoes, check.
  • Nails, check.
  • Dress, check.
  • Tux, check.

As we come into the last week before prom, it is important that you have everything in place so that your night can be perfect. Check out this list of prom do’s and don’ts and don’t forget to take lots of pictures. Be sure to post them on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #JOHSProm15.

DO:

  1. Get your date a corsage/ boutonniere
  2. Bring extra shoes to prom if you wear heels
  3. Save up money for dinner
  4. Have a plan in advance
  5. Guys, open the door for your date
  6. Make reservations
  7. Pay for the girls dinner
  8. Take extra money
  9. Make a good impression on the parents
  10. Have an emergency kit (aspirin, safety pins, Band-Aids, anti-acid, bobby pins, hair ties, charger)
  11. Have a backup plan for pictures if it ends up raining

Bad Form

 

DON’T:

  1. Wait until the last minute to buy your dress
  2. Wait until the last minute to rent your tux
  3. Pressure your date to do anything they don’t want to do
  4. Leave your date for too long
  5. Forget breath mints
  6. Forget an umbrella
  7. Miss your hair/makeup appointments
  8. Forget to wash your car
  9. Forget to fill the gas tank up
  10. Leave electronics unguarded
  11. Forget to tip
